Hi ho

The working has not stopped but for one or two days for the last week. Don has been here almost every night and Glynn helped over the weekend. Tonight we start laying the laminate! Yea! Still lots of unknowns, but I am confident the floors have been more professionally done than if we had paid someone to do it. For the first time since we lived here the floors are level and solid. And even though we are going to give out a few gift certificates to those who have helped,we still had enough from the insurance company to pay off the truck, double yea! I still can not believe the dude from Ohio 'something or other' was going to charge us this much to do half the work we have put in, they would not have worried about making the floors level"just slap it down and run with the $$$". We are so blessed to have parents and friends with knowledge and devotion to help us. Once the main floor is put in ,we still have a lot of work to do, but that's when I really get to put some effort in. Carpet cleaning, painting, re attaching the carpet where it was pulled up, putting everything back where it belongs...

nada

Still nothing accomplished on the house from Friday the 4th. We got the hot water heater working thanks to dad. Todd figured out that we had a water leak under the house, called a plumber, got it fixed. I will be at the discipleship weekend this Friday, sat. Sunday. And every night for me is booked up till then. When will the house be fixed? Not a clue, I feel like I am living in someone else's house in Kentucky. Get this, we had to mail our damages check to our mortgage company so they could sign it...Will we get it back quickly? NO,this company thinks it takes 10 days to get a payment from the day you send it to the post office. And I can guarantee they will not be in a hurry to send money back to us.

more work

so far we have done all the work...and the contractor stands to make 6000+$...not in my life time. Todd and I will probably finish the job,or get a professional, but that dude will not see the money! It means it wont be done as quickly...but Todd has made the decision not to go with "Bill", and after a good nights sleep...I agree that he was tring to swindle us. So it is worth the extra bit of time to assure he doesnt make money off us. We will just have to move in with someone for awhile...anyone?

uck

I am sick to death of the mildew smell in my house...it's almost as bad as the dead cat! I hope it hasn't permeated my skin. Demolishing the floors yourselves to save on the deductable makes sense in your head...
