Last night
Angela is with her hubby on a business trip in"sin"city Vegas. Angela is miserable with the constant barrage of sexual immorality and advertisements for fornication. But she is glad Shawn is not there alone, and so is he. Anyway,I had to go alone to the small group...I am guessing everything went well. You cant really tell with high school girls, did they "get"it? Or am I a big joke? Not that it really matters as long as I am being obedient to my King, but when someone asks "how did it go?" I don't know how to answer them. Maybe say"Gods word doesn't return void ,but accomplishes His will".
Going camping this weekend,as it will probably be the last opportunity this year, and its going to be very cold and a little wet. This time we are visiting Scales Lake in BOONVILLE. It was a very pretty lake, and if you like to camp primitively then it would be the prefect spot. Looks clean, and there was grass! Hope to do some LEGAL fishing and rent a boat. They have great playgrounds, petting zoo, beach, water slide,volleyball...No one is actually staying with us,but the Becks are going to visit on sat. Glory is doing great, smart, relatively calm, not getting to big(her parents were on the smaller end),no hair problems, totally house and camper trained. She woke us up Tuesday night at 1:30,she has never done that before...Todd told her NO once, and she waited about 5 mins and barked again,so I got up to find out why. I took her outside and she had the "runs" went 3 places in the yard. Good dog! Kids are doing well,Emily is reading at third grade level, and Jacob is right on track if not a little ahead reading at a 2nd grade level. Jacob is starting cursive writing and multipication. Emily is working on regrouping addition and subraction problems. Isaac needs lots of prayer! jen at 9/30/2004 01:25:00 PM 0 comments Small groups
I am Angela's sidekick(comic relief) for this years high school small groups. I was a little concerned about the possibility that they would be immature and only there to check out the boys, but they really seem interested in getting closer to God. I am very excited about the choice that she made as far as a study...Every Young women's Battle. I have been reading it for a few weeks and what a great book! I wish I had this info when I became a Christian and was struggling with purity. The girls didn't freak out and run to Stew to be switched once they found out,but during prayer time actually gave thanks to God for their small group leaders, and wow did I feel so unworthy. (why would God want to and fulfill His desire to use me is beyond my ability to reckon)....Anyway Angela had a great idea that along with the study, she would have mature christian women to give their testimony every other week and to try to have it correlate with the weeks study. I also believe that God wants a few men to give testimony to the truths in the book. So anyone reading this please offer up prayer for the high school small groups and for God to raise up those whose testimony's will most defeat the devils schemes.
Revelation 12:10 Then I heard a loud voice in heaven say: "Now have come the salvation and the power and the kingdom of our God, and the authority of his Christ. For the accuser of our brothers, who accuses them before our God day and night, has been hurled down. 11 They overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony; they did not love their lives so much as to shrink from death. 12 Therefore rejoice, you heavens and you who dwell in them! But woe to the earth and the sea, because the devil has gone down to you! He is filled with fury, because he knows that his time is short." jen at 9/16/2004 09:12:00 AM 0 comments
